During its meeting on 6 May, the ACCORD Bureau has been analyzing the consequences of still having two unfilled Area Leader positions in the Management Group. Given the importance of these functions for the proper functioning of the consortium, the Bureau has decided to re-open the Call for Applications for the positions of Physics and of Meteorological Quality Assurance Area Leaders with a deadline for applications set to 17 June. The Bureau has tasked the PM to organize the interview panel, taking into account that the Terms of Reference for the two positions remain unchanged.

The new Management Group of ACCORD met in Toulouse on 3-4 February for their kick-off meeting of phase 2.

The 11th ACCORD Assembly was organised as an hybrid meeting (video-conference and in-person) in Brussels, Belgium, on the kind invitation of IRM/KMI, on Monday 1rst and Tuesday 2nd of December 2025.

UWC informs that the new Management Group of UWC starting 1 January 2026 consists of:
- Daniel Santos Muñoz (DMI) as UWC Programme Manager (1 FTE, half of which is the duty to be the HARMONIE-AROME CSC leader in ACCORD. 5 year period)
- Chris Romick (KNMI) as UWC Team Leader System (5 year period)
- Kristian Pagh Nielsen (DMI) as UWC Team Leader Meteorological Quality Assurance (5 year period)
- Isabel Monteiro (KNMI) as UWC Team Leader Data Assimilation and use of Observations (2.5 year period)
- Marvin Kähnert (MET Norway) as UWC Team Leader Forecast Model (2.5 year period)
- Aristofanis Tsiringakis (KNMI) as UWC Team Leader Probabilistic Forecasting (2.5 year period)
- Leif Denby (DMI) as UWC Liaison Officer Machine Learning (2.5 year period)
The Team Leaders and Liaison Officer reports to the Programme Manager. The Programme Manager reports to the UWC Steering Committee.
The PM position and other 5-year positions are subject to periodic review and will be confirmed through governance decisions by the UWC Council.
Each 2.5 year position will have potential to be extended for a further 2.5 years following re-evaluation of UWC requirements at the mid-term of the UWC programme period.
In its previous meeting of 9 October 2025, the ACCORD Assembly approved the accessibility of the NWP codes (including AROME for instance) for external use in the context of scientific publications and their reviewing process. This accessibility will increase the possibilities to publish results in journals which require that the codes used to produce the results are made available to the reviewers. Two specific tailor-made license templates have been agreed and are available:
License template valid until end of 2025.
License template valid from January 2026.
The text of the template will have to be adapted to each specific publication and peer-reviewing process during a (hopefully simple) negotiation with the journal of interest.
